KWRAA CHRISTMAS PARTY - 2023The KWRAA Christmas Party was held on December 8, 2023 at 6 pm. at Runways Cafe at CYKF.

KWRAA SUMMER FLY-IN EVENTS
All fly-ins are "pot-luck" so please bring dessert or salad – call Pat at 519-848-3392 or Mike at 519-338-2768 if you have any questions.
Burgers and drinks are supplied - $5 donation requested to offset chapter fly-in event expenses, but larger donations are gratefully accepted to assist with our good neighbour program. (In 2015, we implemented our "Good Neighbour" program, which allows the fly-in host the opportunity to invite a few neighbours to the event. KWRAA covers the cost of their meal and allows them to learn about RAA, meet a few of the pilots and see our amateur-built aircraft up close.)
Liability Coverage exists for all paid-up RAA National members at RAA sanctioned events, which includes all of our KWRAA fly-ins. Guests are generally welcome to fly in to these events, but may not be covered by the RAA policy in the event of an accident. Non-KWRAA attendees should contact the host for permission to land at these private airstrips.

Yarmouth or Bust! (Lee and Dan's Most Excellent Adventure to Yarmouth, Nova Scotia)
As of 2024, it's sad how little has changed in Canada in regard to ADS-B since this presentation was made by Lee to our group.
Although more pilots have equipped with 1090ES ADS-B systems, there is still no affirmative direction from Transport Canada, Nav Canada, nor COPA to address many of the issues identified in 2016.
In the meantime, the USA has implemented a fully functioning system that has reduced mid-air collision fatalities by almost 90% and provides US pilots with in-flight weather as a bonus!
ADS-B Update as of May 2016 - by Lee Coulman
